Ben McVane, MD is an an Attending Physician and faculty member at Elmhurst Hospital in New York City, a public city hospital affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his medical degree at Columbia University and emergency medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Internationally, he has worked on health care projects and providing clinical care in South Africa, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and UNHCR camps in Greece and Bangladesh. Domestically, he works with the Libertas Center in Queens, providing medical affidavits for survivors of torture seeking asylum in the US. He has specific interest in the provision of medical care to immigrant and refugee populations internationally and domestically.
